The film of Pedro Almodovar’s “The skin I live in” (2011) must be the one to watch whoever wants to see about love, rape, and revenge. I guess the theory of Judith Buther’s gender trouble and performativity (the theory based on the idea all bodies are gendered from the beginning of their social existence, which means that there is no “natural body”) might be a very good combination for a further theoretical approach to grasping the meaning of the film since it has a transgender process and give a lot of space to the possibility of a queer approach to the sexual relations.

Although their genre and style are very different with an original title “La piece que habito” connotes me a lot Ex machine (2015).
